PARKOUR COMPETITIONS

We run Parkour Competitions three times a year and they are open to all our parkour members!

PARKOUR COMPETITIONS

Over the course of the calendar year we will run a variety of different Parkour Competitions. Read about the different competitions below.

Chase Tag

Parkour chase tag is a game of cat and mouse where the chaser must catch his opponent (the runner) and tag them. This can be anywhere in the body as long as the body is tagged (clothing does not count).
The chaser will have 15 seconds (we can change the time accordingly) to catch his opponent. What makes this interesting is they must battle it out on a Parkour course. The course will be built with multiple levels and platforms to use as an evasion for the runner to getaway. Using their Parkour skills to outwit and evade their opponent.
If the runner manages to evade the chaser, they must stay on for the next round to begin against a new opponent, exhaustion now being an additional obstacle they must overcome.
This is a high-intensity, high-energy challenge. Do you have what it takes to be the champ?

Speed Challenge

Competing against the clock, participants will move across a variety of obstacles in a set course, hoping to have the quickest time to win the competition.

The obstacles and course will be changed dependent on ability, and will force the participants to adjust and adapt their movements to perform the most efficient forwards moving route.

Style Run Challenge

Athletes have to include certain elements in their run, the rest will be free choice. They will be judged on creativity, flow, execution, difficulty and overall impression. This is a chance for the athletes to show off their learnt skills in any way they would like.

Skills Challenge

Athletes will NOT get to warm up the challenges up on the day, they will be set on the day. We are looking for controlled, stuck landings which are held for 3 seconds on the balls of the feet with no wobbling. The athlete gets 3 tries per skill.

Successful first attempts get 3 points,2 points are awarded for success on the 2nd try, 1 point is awarded for success on the 3rd try. Challenges will be sent out before the competition.
